About the Livestream
In this episode of Resourcing Leaders Live, we discuss the persistent gender pay gap, which has left women more than £1,200 worse off annually since 2010. Data from the Office for National Statistics reveals that the pay gap between men and women in full-time work has only decreased by 2.4% in 13 years and is not expected to close until the 2060s. Anneliese Dodds, shadow Women and Equalities Secretary, blames the Conservative government, while Victoria Atkins, Financial Secretary to the Treasury, claims significant progress.
We also explore a BlackRock report identifying a "sweet spot" for gender diversity in firms. Companies with balanced gender representation in the middle quintile experience higher annual returns on assets. A 1% increase in women's representation leads to a 3.5 basis point rise in returns. Despite challenges, female CEOs and women-led hedge funds and startups outperform their male-led counterparts. Don't miss this episode of "RL Live" for insights into the gender pay gap and the power of gender diversity in business.
