Senior Director, Talent Market Intelligence at ServiceNow. Previously VP of Strategy at Lightcast, and before that, Toby built and led global talent intelligence teams at Amazon (Worldwide Stores) and Royal Philips. These were diverse teams of economists, consultants, analysts and researchers, all focused on turning labor market data into business decisions.
The common thread across Toby’s career has been using people data, market intelligence and research to drive real organizational impact. He’s done this from the practitioner side, the vendor side, and as a board advisor to companies like Stratigens (acquired by Lightcast) and Candidate.ID (acquired by iCIMS).
Toby literally wrote the book on it: Talent Intelligence: Use Business and People Data to Drive Organizational Performance (Amazon). Recruiter Magazine has named Toby one of the 11 Most Influential In-House Recruiters every year since 2017, and I was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2025.
What is your prediction for the future of the TA industry?
A route back to our roots. Consulting. We need to be clear on the value in process that we bring and dial up on that whilst letting go of the administrative low value add work.
