Natalie McGuinness

Head of Talent Acquisition, Busy Bees Nurseries

With over 15 years experience in the talent acquisition industry, Natalie feels lucky to have worked for some massive brands such as Barclays, Capita and currently working for the UK’s largest Nursery Group, Busy Bees 🐝. Being a Liverpool lass, Natalie is passionate about Social Mobility and gets her thrills in work from any transformation projects whether IT, people, or creatively focussed. She is passionate about innovation and loves that she gets to work with some of the most forward thinking suppliers. Beyond work, Natalie loves music (especially anything with a beat to get the feet moving) and as a mum to 2 boys, of course, Football! (Big Liverpool supporters in her house!)

What’s a professional achievement of yours from 2024 that you are proud of?

2024 was an incredible year as the team and I faced huge challenges both in the market and with our tech stack. Getting iCIMs ATS signed off and implemented is a huge achievement plus the delivery of +40% key hires to the business enabling our Nursery teams to thrive and provide the best care to all our children.

How has the RL Community helped you this year?

The RL community have been invaluable from providing me with feedback on providers they have used to help shape thinking, sharing specific actionable advice to help me successfully land the projects I’ve had on along with a safe space that provides advice and humour. We do difficult stressful jobs so having a laugh along the way is absolutely key. I’m incredibly grateful to all the members of the RL – awesome group of people!

What is your prediction for the TA industry for 2025?

My prediction is that we will be faced with another tough year, but the early signs of commitment to growth from businesses will hopefully ensure that TA is as imperative to support this. As a result, we will need to continue to think beyond the here and now to ensure we are adding value to our organisations and therefore, progress in our industry is the only option. Whether that’s AI led or otherwise, we will continue to be the front windscreen of HR and the wider business.
