s a Talent Acquisition professional, James has over 20 years’ experience in the recruitment industry that includes RPO, in-house, and executive search. James has led large global talent acquisition teams in multiple locations/regions. He has built and led in-house executive search functions in two previous roles and has extensive experience in hiring up to and including c-suite, board level, & NED individuals. ​

Before joining Syngenta in April 2022, he gained industry experience across Finance, Media, FMCG, Online Media and Digital. ​

What’s a recent professional achievement of yours that you are proud of?

Creating & building the first in-house Executive Search function for Syngenta. In the process we’ve seen a significant increase in candidate & hiring manager experience and achieved considerable cost avoidance.

What is your prediction for the future of the TA industry?

IA will drive significant change (as is often referenced) but the TA industry will also need to counter this with personal connections with candidates and hiring teams. Call them ‘moment’s that matter’ in the recruitment process but the drop in the personal connection is driving a more transactional experience.

What projects are you planning on working on in 2026?

Building the core pillars of Executive Hiring within Syngenta (Exec Search, Sourcing/Mapping/Market Intel & Insight
