Alana Inness has over 20 years of people and talent experience. Starting her career in consultancy working across a variety of industries, supporting large and small organisations to define and improve the people experience and business performance by working across multiple elements of the employee lifecycle. She has spent most of the last 10 years in large global retail organisations B&Q (and parent company Kingfisher) and Specsavers. Her current role includes talent acquisition, executive search, employer brand, early careers and talent development. She’s a Certified Principal Business Psychologist and a Fellow of the LPI (Learning and Performance Institute). Alana aims to use always use evidence-based insight in a pragmatic way that is right for the organisation and its people to inspire individual and business performance.
What’s a professional achievement of yours from 2024 that you are proud of?
Leading the team to launch a new employer brand and careers site, alongside launching two talent accelerant programmes to support internal careers and talent pipelines.
How has the RL Community/helped you this year?
The RL Community have been a key group to share practice and resources with. They also help me understand what other organisations are doing.
What is your prediction for the TA industry for 2025?
Further integration of AI as an enabler to make TA more efficient
