Liz Heal

Group Talent Acquisition Manager Gregory Group (Gregory Distribution Ltd)

Liz Heal is Group Talent Acquisition Manager at Gregory Group, with overall responsibility for recruitment and remuneration across six companies employing more than 3,500 people nationally. She oversees the hiring of more than 1,200 colleagues each year, ensuring strategies, systems and infrastructure deliver sustainable success. With over 20 years of experience across public and private sectors, Liz is passionate about building high performing TA functions, enhancing candidate experience and developing EVP that resonates in competitive markets. She is also interested in how AI and data can reshape the way organisations identify, engage and retain talent.

What’s a recent professional achievement of yours that you are proud of?

I led the rollout of a new Employee Value Proposition across the Gregory Group, bringing six businesses together under a unified employer identity. The project strengthened brand presence in a competitive logistics market, improved candidate attraction and boosted internal engagement. It also delivered measurable impact on retention and employee pride across the group.

What is your prediction for the future of the TA industry?

I believe that the talent market will continue to tighten, making it harder to attract and retain the right people. While AI and data will improve efficiency, the real differentiator will be the human elements of talent acquisition such as empathy, creativity and authentic engagement. Organisations that combine smart technology with genuine human connection will have the strongest edge.

What projects are you planning on working on in 2026?

In 2026 I will focus on embedding advanced workforce planning and reward integration into TA strategy. Priorities include predictive hiring models, using remuneration data to inform attraction and retention, and continuing to evolve the EVP. I’m also leading the implementation of a new onboarding platform as part of the group’s business transformation plans, ensuring technology supports both efficiency and colleague experience. Alongside this, I am in the process of establishing a logistics recruitment networking group to bring talent leaders together, share best practice and strengthen collaboration across the sector.
