Roy is a Senior Human Resources & Talent Acquisition professional with a blend of strategic and operational skills over 14 years of experience in HR and Recruitment within Global Organisations & Family Conglomerates, with diverse business portfolios including Automotive, Retail, Real Estate, Financial Services, Construction, Renewable Energy, Digital & IT, FMCG, F&B and Hospitality across Europe, Middle East, Africa and India.

He has proven hands-on experience in managing and mentoring recruitment teams, leading change, Transformation, building and executing Talent Acquisitions strategies with a business-focused, data led and technology driven approach. Roy has consistently displayed a high degree of expertise in People management, Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations & Business Partnering.

Operationally, Roy has managed multicultural teams across a range of specialisms, providing leadership, mentoring and driving performance as required. He has led or been heavily involved in rolling out ATS systems both regionally and globally (Taleo, Lumesse, and Success Factors). Roy has been able to set up TA operating model and has always sought to employ cutting-edge industry technologies and data management to drive automation, reduce cost, create process efficiencies and improve candidate experience.

What’s a professional achievement of yours from 2024 that you are proud of?

Delivered an effective talent acquisition strategy resulting in a 30% increase in the quality of hires and a 20% decrease in time-to-fill positions (40% lesser than the Gartner average of time to fill).

Partnering with C-suite and Board on Executive Hiring of all Leadership roles. 100% completion of leadership renewal at Group level and delivered the Talent Renewal strategy of Leadership & Business Critical roles (N-2 and 3) at business levels.

Implemented a data-driven approach to talent acquisition, utilising analytics and metrics to optimise the hiring processes and improve hiring outcomes, resulting in a 25% increase in candidate conversion rate.

It provided me a platform to collaborate with fellow leaders to gather insights and explore strategies in Talent Acquisition and help in shaping the future of our workforce!

What is your prediction for the TA industry for 2025?

Speaking from a UAE landscape – Its a bit uncertain, as one side UAE is moving towards Gig economy while also being cautious on flexible work. But from a TA Lens – its surely moving towards introduction of technology in different forms and towards experience.
