Martin joined Sainsbury’s in late 2024 and leads recruitment across the group. His remit includes operational recruitment as well as talent attraction, employee branding, assessments and policy. Prior to Sainsbury’s Martin spent eight years in various senior talent acquisition roles for Amazon, leading teams across EMEA and APAC.

What’s a recent professional achievement of yours that you are proud of?

We have recently embedded a new way of interviewing, bringing to life our leadership performance expectations into the interview process.

What is your prediction for the future of the TA industry?

TA will continue to lean in to the opportunities presented by AI and automation but I feel over the next 12-18 months we will start to get clarity on what the new normal will be i.e. which AI skills and processes become embedded sector wide and how recruiter roles will evolve off the back of this.

What projects are you planning on working on in 2026?

2026 will see a continuation of 2025 work in driving operational efficiency and enhancing customer and candidate experience.
